  Like many wistful wanderers before me — and no doubt countless dreamers to come — a sizable piece of my heart belongs to Italy. I’ve been enchanted by the allure and natural beauty of its diverse landscape with every visit, yet beyond the visual charm of the undulating Tuscan hills, the turquoise coastal waters of Amalfi, and the captivating culture of its historic cities, there is a sublime spell of magic that fills every fiber of my being in its presence.
  
  Each region of this breathtaking country seems to radiate a distinct luminosity like nowhere else on earth — a captivating luster that is extraordinarily apparent at sunrise when the light is diffused and gentle, and once again at dusk when the sun seems to fade from view in a vibrant glory. In perfect harmony with this brilliance is an ardent romance and happiness that inspires one to bask in the beauty of the moment and to allow the carefree culture of this place and its people to wash away any worries or woes. At twilight it’s the lulling quietness of a new beginning, punctuated by the occasional burst of animated chatter as the door of a nearby café swings open to reveal native Italians washing down decadent pastries with freshly brewed espresso.
