  A flurry of softness, petals woven from a tender pale pink, akin to the morning sunrise. A gentle kiss on the forehead, a hand that so effortlessly holds your own. The intimacy of knowing. Dahlias are tubers that grow underneath the darkness of the earth. Before they bloom they are unassuming, invisible for a large portion in their growing process. Then, as if by pure magic, they bloom. Effortless elegance and patterns that leave one silenced in awe. A spectrum of colors that captivate. 
  
  I have fallen deeply in love with the rich tones that Dahlias can take on, and yet there is something mesmerizing about the pale pink petals that ask for nothing. It is a color that can often go under the radar, a color associated with fragility, yet she endures over and over again. As her petals opened in front of my eyes, I thought deeply about the meaning of femininity. How often we associate the idea of being feminine with a coy submissive nature. When in reality, even adorned in pale pink wonder, femininity is both the calm and the storm. Silken and fervent in her desire.
