  Joy is surrender; it is comfort; it is excitement. It embodies an array of emotions that all feel as though they were always meant to be just as they are. Joy is enchantment, that pulse of pleasure and delight. As I watched, the gossamer petals melted into this scene, with no fear of losing any part of themselves, just an acceptance of all their phases… I thought, this, this is what joy would feel like. An abandonment of all we think we should be and a radical acceptance of everything we are. Imperfect, bruised, constantly changing beings capable of extraordinary love that leads us to moments of overwhelming grief. All to learn that grief is love seeking a new home. But, just like that, over time, tears turn back into smiles, and our bodies flood with that familiar feeling. Dew drops of joy, breathing new life into our souls.
