  Have you ever paid attention to the way certain flowers and plants lean into one another? How bluebells create fields with each other, entwining their roots together to feel a little closer. Golden butterflies begin to swirl within my own heart when I think of family. The ones we choose and the ones some of us are lucky enough to be gifted with. How overtime, our bodies, and energy begin to melt together. A song that one of us begins and the other finishes—each a different bloom, individuals that choose to weave with another. There is comfort in knowing that when your limbs grow weary, you can lean on another who will lend you their strength. And that you, too, can be the safe landing place for another.
  
  Flowers teach us this with effortless grace. The way they open to face the sun and hold one another in the process. Poppies and their dance in the wind with stems so seemingly fragile but the way another sprouts just close enough to help keep them upright. Then the plants who choose their families. Tomatoes and how they will grow with vibrant health when planted with basil. A chosen love. An unexpected family.

  With my camera as my journal, I have had the opportunity to photograph the feeling of family within an arrangement, a movement, a moment. We were never meant to be on this journey alone, rather together, woven in a global family.
