  Nature is synchronicity, the way it ebbs and flows. The constant rise and fall of the sun and moon, the seasons, and how they melt into one another. When the Earth is dry, she begs for rain. It is rarely a perfect amount, more often than not, it is too much or too little, but still, it comes. In the modern world, the word balance has been wildly misinterpreted. This notion that we should always be seeking it, striving for it, becoming it. Life is a pendulum, in constant motion, just as the scales, a forever tilting to one side and another. For flickers of time, there is a pause in the middle, a brief moment where the scales are balanced. Balance is not a destination; it is found in the acceptance of the chaos. A knowing that life will not always feel like silk sheets, butterflies, and long nights of warmth. Sometimes it will be overrun, sleepless. 

  We will have to say no to people we love, and express emotion for all that feels… too much. All of that is part of the nature of being. The way roses open with their spectacular showing of satin petals always captures the essence of my own life. Each petal becomes a path I walked, a choice that led me in a new direction.
