  At some point or another, we are strangers. Before we are lovers, we are two beings moving in the world. Rising with the sun and sleeping with the moon, we may have walked by one another countless times, our orbits circling one another but never colliding. Our skin is made of the same stardust, our eyes capturing the colors of the universe, our voices memories that carry on for eternity. Even though we may have not yet met, we are still very much a part of one another's worlds. We often focus so much on what separates us and forget all that exists within us all. Our need for affection and nourishment. Our want to dream far and wide, our desire to grow and sustain. After all, we are never really strangers; even if one does not know another by name, there is a knowing. As years have gone by, I have been lucky enough to witness the kindness of strangers. The way people I hardly know have stepped up to hold me, support me, and believe in me. I have seen people pay for one another's coffee, walk one another across the road, send condolences for a person they did not know themselves. There are times when humanity is extraordinary, where we set aside our differences and show compassion and grace. Flowers have reminded me that there is always an opportunity for strangers to become friends. To lean our petals into one another and relish in the beauty they create. To be amazed by both the familiar and unfamiliar, forever keeping my heart open to the knowledge and goodness that lingers around every corner if only we continue to look for it.
