I've been drawn to examine each floral family and their significance this year. Dahlias represent change, and as we shift through the final summer hours, I'm reminded to let go and embrace the inevitable season of transition. As a soft whisper fades away, so do the summer blooms, and we begin to settle into the slow pace of autumn.

For this series, I longed to photograph dahlias in all their glory - focusing closely on their subtle shifts and the inner strength they possess. Much like peonies, dahlias’ graceful elegance is undeniable. As they ripen in their growth cycle, each bloom mesmerizes us with her beauty. Ultimately, it is their perseverance and inner strength that makes the lasting impression.

There is something incredibly therapeutic in instilling a practice that sheds us of old habits and patterns. As I capture dahlia’s beauty through my lens and observe her petals one by one fluttering to the ground, I am reminded of nature’s cycle mirroring my own life. I welcome the change and rely on my inner wisdom to guide me through this chapter. In stillness, I’m the student - observing, listening and understanding what reshapes my own growth.

In the spirit of welcoming the autumnal equinox, may you find a calming spot to ponder and reflect on the past season and open your heart to the new. May you flow freely with the currents of life and begin to manifest a new awakening.
