Captured during the height of the 2020 pandemic, this black and white peony print was named for one of mankind’s most empathetic qualities. This floral artwork is a numbered edition of 175 in size 13 x 19 inches and is one of three in a collection of monochromatic peony photographs. Displaying the same selflessness needed for the human heart to show compassion, the peony bloom was photographed to embody the extraordinary aptitudes of listening, learning, and presenting one’s hand to benefit others.
A bold piece with an underlying softness in its message, this artwork comes unframed and Giclée printed on museum-quality, smooth archival fine art paper. Representing the beauty of humanity despite the challenges we face, this floral print comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and is numbered, dated, and embossed with an artist seal. Hang on its own for a beautiful reminder of the good in the world, or pair with art prints Bravery and Love for an impactful trio.

Compassion is one of my favorite traits of the human heart. Not only do we have the capacity to love another being. But we also have the unique ability to understand what it might be like to exist in their shoes. This leads to miraculous acts of kindness and care – incredibly beautiful things to behold.
Compassion requires a selflessness that the peony reflects in this photo. There is a softness to the peony's features that speaks to the deference of her own needs. It’s almost as if she’s leaning in to listen. As I was shooting this image, I wanted to honor humanity's beauty that has become apparent throughout this challenging year. I wanted to remind myself that there was so much good in the world despite the darkness surrounding me. And I wanted to remind myself that I always have the opportunity to be of service to others.
This flower art print speaks to the remarkable power of listening, learning, and offering your own hands to benefit another.
This artwork is part of a Numbered Edition Series of 175 prints. Each print comes with a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) signed, numbered, dated and embossed with artist seal.
